Integrating Mental Health &
Substance Use Treatments
11 AM Pacific | 12 PM Mountain | 1 PM Central | 2 PM Eastern
hosted by Kellin Foundation
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), nearly 9 million Americans have a co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder, and yet only 7% of those individuals receive treatment for both. Nearly 60 percent receive no treatment at all. Research indicates that co-occurring disorders need to be treated at the same time in integrated care for best outcomes and lower treatment costs for patients. Join this workshop to identify and discuss factors contributing to co-occurring disorders, best practices strategies for integrated care, and how to improve clients’ or peers’ recovery and quality of life.
This is a lightly facilitated movement journey with music to ground you in the present moment, help you release trauma stuck in the body, and move you toward healing. “Lightly facilitated” means there are no choreographed movements or steps to follow. Prompts and suggestions are provided, but each person is invited to move at their own pace and as they wish, which can be seated, standing, or reclined.
